Welding 10- With Work Placement - 4943W

Pre-Requisite: None

Delivery Method: Online Asynchronous

This course has a required work placement component (75 hours theory and 25 hours of work placement).  The work placement must be coordinated through a Career Work Exploration (CWEX) teacher (ask your principal if you do not know if you have a CWEX teacher available). The work placement provides the student with hands-on experience in the welding repair industry. Students are responsible for any necessary workplace attire/materials (ex. work boots, tools, etc).

For Practical and Applied Arts (PAA) courses with a work placement, scheduled site visits by a CWEX teacher are required. Learn more about work placements.

Course Description: Welding 10 introduces students to the basics skills needed in the welding industry. Students will be introduced to various hand tools and power tools, oxy-acetylene welding/cutting, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, and careers in the field. Personal and workplace safety will be an emphasis during each unit.
