Mechanics 10 (with Work Placement) - 4957W

Pre-Requisite: none

Delivery Method: Online Asynchronous

***Important***
There are two ways to complete this course:

  1. Recommended Method:  With a work placement (75% theory and 25% work placement).  This must be done through a CWEX teacher (ask your principal if you do not know if you have a CWEX teacher available).  Students are responsible for any necessary workplace attire/materials (ex. work boots, tools, etc).

  2. Alternate Method:  Without a work placement (100% theory).  This option is only for those students that do not have access to a CWEX teacher.  Again, discuss with your Principal.  For home-based students, you can phone the DLC for more information.  Click here to go to this course description.

List of Assignments

For Practical and Applied Arts courses with a work placement, additional fees and scheduled site visits may be required. We encourage all learners, parents, mentors and, where appropriate, school-based administrators to familiarize themselves with our work placement policies.

Mechanics 10 exposes the student into the inner workings of the automobile. This 70-75 hour theory component is combined with a 25- 30 hour Work Study. The Work Study component is set up with the school Career and Work Exploration teacher and provides the student with hands-on experience in the automotive repair industry.
