Leadership 20 allows students to develop leadership skills that will prepare them for the 21st century. Along with these skills, students will analyze research in the areas of meetings, volunteering, leadership through the ages, and human behaviour. Students will participate in personality testing that will allow them to see who they are as learners and leaders, and how they can work in groups with other personalities. Students have the potential to become successful leaders through hands on application, mentorship, inquiry, and project-based learning. This course will provide students with a solid foundation for life, work, and citizenship.


The goals of the Leadership course are to develop:

  • Understanding of leadership in the community, including real-life examples of leaders
  • Awareness of one’s own leadership styles and skills, and to improve these skills especially in times of change
  • Human Behaviour and attitudes, along with personality types
  • Communication skills that are essential to leadership and teamwork
  • Ethics and respect in leadership
  • A final project that addresses a need
