This course will examine the major events of the 20th century with an overall goal of developing a better understanding of how the events from this time period have impacted the world we live in today. The initial topics in this course will build on information that was taught in History 10 including the social, economic, and political changes that swept through society at the end of the 19th century. Some of the major topics of this course include: World War One, the Roaring Twenties and Dirty Thirties, World War Two, and the Cold War. Being a 20 Level course students will be expected to demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills. This course will continue to develop the historical thinking concepts with a particular focus on Historical Perspective, Ethical Dimension, and Primary Source Evidence.
