Delivery Method: Online Asynchronous*

Important Note – This course is NOT a high school credit.  It does follow Saskatchewan curriculum but is developed as an elementary course.  Students cannot receive high school credit for this course.

The Core French Curriculum is defined by language levels and not by grade levels. Level 1 is the beginning level for Core French Study, regardless of the actual grade level of students.

The aim of the curriculum is to help students understand, use, and appreciate the French language. It has goals of helping students use the language confidently and correctly in familiar contexts and authentic situations, to develop strategies that will help them acquire the language, and to develop an appreciation of Francophone cultures.

In Level 1, students will develop a level of comfort by primarily becoming familiar with the oral characteristics of the language. They will eventually progress to the language’s written forms in the following levels.
